Following the recent news of 5 Seconds of Summer signing a new record deal with Interscope Records (Universal Music) – they were previously signed to Capitol Records since 2012 – earlier this month, the Australian band made its come back with the new edgy single “Easier“. The song was co-produced by the one and only Charlie Puth, who also co-wrote the synth-heavy inspired track with songwriters Lou Bell (Selena Gomez, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes) and Ryan Tedder (One Republic, Beyonce, Demi Lovato).
The four-piece band dropped the gloomy and edgy music video directed by Grant Singer (The Weeknd, Lorde, Ariana Grande). When asked about their upcoming new album, the band told Rolling Stone magazine that “there is a darker tone to this record intentionally“. And although a release date has yet to be announced, the band is hoping to release half of the album as singles before the end of the year.
