FRIDAY’S LATEST #3

October is finally here, and with it comes our third edition of FRIDAY’S LATEST!

Starting with a return from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin on their second project together, Savage Mode II. A record that was long overdue with over 28 000 fans signing a petition to get it out ASAP! Well, that’s out now! Announced by Morgan Freeman, the album is now available on every streaming platform. Thanks to the first collab between the two artists, we got X featuring Future, and today we got Mr. Right Now with Drake which has already made some noise on Twitter!

And talking about unexpected projects, Bryson Tiller is also making his come back after five years. A N N I V E R S A R Y is in continuity with Tiller’s first album, T R A P  S O U L, but we find here a more confident young man and a more intimate sound. We only got a preview of the artist’s talent through Wild Thoughts or Playing Games, but we can finally him on his own and on his preferred genre, R&B and we just love it. Sorrows and Next To You are not to be skipped!

At TBC, we love how fall was perfectly made for those laid back vibes that we enjoy so much, so let’s continue with our favourite R&B princesses, Jorja Smith and Ella Mai. The beautifully talented Jorja Smith is back with Come Over, featuring Popcaan. A Jamaïcan-sounding track, blending Jorja‘s sweetness and Popcaan‘s rhythms. The two artists released a video too, to support the track, which illustrates the current US news landscape and the Black Lives Matter movement.

After warning social media about her come back, Ella Mai released Not Another Love Song. Mai is fighting against her feelings on this track, which confirms once again the young woman’s artistic maturity. She even got to perform her new track during Rihanna‘s Savage x Fenty vol.2 show! And if you missed her, she’ll also be on The Late Show on October 6th. (LISTEN)

We end this post another unexpected collab, this time from Gorillaz, Elton John & 6LACK. The Pink Phantom clearly deserves its spot in the most important releases of the week, the track even deserves its own post! Since the announcement of their new album Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez, the band has been gathering a group of artists, all even more different than the other, on a project that just sounds magical. If you’re looking for THE track of the week, that’s the one! (LISTEN)
