FRIDAY’S LATEST #5

Was it just us or was October a really long month? Well at least it’s over and we made it! Here’s our 5th FRIDAY’S LATEST to celebrate:

Let’s start off with the French rapper Chanceko and his EP Gaura. After Bad Luv’s huge success, the pressure must have weighed on the young man’s shoulders, but no worries, he’s back at it again with a project full of afro-pop vibes. Our only complain is that 4 songs aren’t enough. We. Need. More! His univers is very new to french rap, making him a talent to watch out for. Galeries Lafayette is on repeat!

We cross the English Channel for our next pick. Fever the highly anticipated track by Dua Lipa and Angèle is finally out! A hot collaboration which mixes both English and French, with a production that highlights the two respective universes of the artists. Oh la la! (LISTEN HERE)

Next on our list is lavender, our favorite London duo who is back with constantly. A beautiful RnB song you’ll want to play over and over. A very bedroom type of track, in the best way. The talented CHRISSY and her vocals sublimate the song by giving it a fascinating vibe. (LISTEN HERE)

Now let’s say hi to our American neighbours (Don’t forget to vote!)

This Friday was full of releases. Among them, Tierra Whack and her song Dora clearly stood out. The young rapper who is very successful thanks to her uniqueness in both sound and visual, was one of the artists to follow in 2019 alongside DaBaby, Rico Nasty or Megan Thee Stallion, yes you read that correctly! In 2020, she is wasting no time and showing us what she can do. She won’t go unnoticed! Here’s a small preview: (Clip)

Next is a quick stop in New York but trust us it’s worth it! Meet Wolf and her new song Hoops. A track about friendship between girls but Wolf managed to keep the clichés away, making it you’re not so typical girly song. The artist’s plume deserves to be mentioned, Wolf’s words are raw, honest and easy to relate to. If we add to that her unique voice, we have the song of the week and an new favorite artist!

Last but not least, Queen Naija. The YouTuber turned singer released her first album Missunderstood. With Lil Durk, Kiana Lede and Jacquees as features we knew that the project was going to shine. The young woman gives us a very personal album full of authenticity, charm and maturity. Our favorite kind of RnB. She opens up without restraint and talks about her past relationships, her current needs, hoping to show a side of her we don’t know yet by controlling the narrative. I’m Her and Lie To Me are a must listen!
